The Apocalypse

Hello, there.

The name of this blog is a tribute to the final episode of the fifth season of the television series “Supernatural.”

Titled “Swan Song,” the episode presented evil-hunting brothers Dean and Sam Winchester with their greatest challenge yet, preventing the Apocalypse from taking place. It was an episode which not only found them rebuffing Archangels Michael and Lucifer from fulfilling God’s plan, it also served as a wonderful conclusion to their epic story after five seasons of saving people and hunting things…their family business.

And then the show went on for another TEN seasons…

Nonetheless, I highly recommend “Supernatural” to anyone who has never sampled it. It had a great (long) run, and the series provided some very memorable episodes of television. I have a high degree of confidence you will find me reference the show again if you stick around long enough.

The chessboard image is a reference to a specific moment within that “final” episode. Lucifer (who reasonably held a negative view of he and Michael fighting to the death), suggested the test God wanted them to endure was not necessary. Feeling they were nothing more than pawns, Lucifer offered a modest counter-proposal to Michael… for the two of them to “just walk off the chessboard.” Some may recall the image from my prior blog…not so ironically titled “Walking Off The Chessboard.”

This site will feature ramblings about movies, shows, sports…and life experiences old and new. If you have read any of my stuff previously, you will certainly find at least a couple of familiar subjects here. Nevertheless, whether the content is familiar or fresh, thank you very much for stopping by. It is greatly appreciated.
